Effective beam truncation of the fundamental mode in an apertured cavity

Abstract

We consider, in an apertured plano-concave cavity, the TEM00-mode loss variations with mirror curvature. We define an effective beam truncation, taking into account the shrinking or widening of the beam that is due to the diffractive lens effect of the aperture.
