Abstract

Efficient tunable deep-blue generation has been demonstrated from a 2.5-kHz Ti:Al2O3 laser through intracavity frequency doubling with β-BaB2O4. An output power of 170 mW at 397 nm was obtained with an efficiency of 7.4% from the pulse 532-nm pump source. The frequency-doubled output was tuned from 383 to 407 nm.
