Abstract

It has been stated [Opt. Lett. 18, 846 (1993)] that a wavelet interpretation of the Huygens–Fresnel formula suggests the design of optical distributed filters that independently operate on different scales of the corresponding wavelet decomposition. This conclusion is argued to be in error.
