Flow and controlled rotation of the spontaneous optical hexagon in KNbO3

Abstract

The flow and rotation of the optical hexagonal pattern spontaneously formed in a photorefractive KNbO3 crystal is studied. It is demonstrated that the direction and speed of rotation can be controlled with an additional erase laser beam.
