Cavity dumping of fiber lasers by phase-modulated optical loop mirrors

Abstract

We report the generation of high-repetition-rate pulses from an erbium-doped fiber laser with a phase-driven optical loop mirror as a cavity dumper. The result demonstrates the potential of this novel method for efficient and ultrafast cavity dumping of fiber lasers.
