Abstract
The principles of laser photothermal (PT) imaging beyond the diffraction limit are discussed. Algorithms for obtaining information on the sizes and the shapes of nanotargets are analyzed. Spectral PT lifetime imaging is suggested to provide spatial localization of nanotargets overlapping inside the diffraction volume.
