Abstract

We investigate the influence of second-order coupling in femtosecond-laser-written zigzag waveguide arrays, where the ratio Δ between second- and first-order coupling constants is adjusted from Δ = 0.0 to Δ = 2.8 . Propagation patterns are observed directly via color center fluorescence.
