Abstract

Mode locking of the FA (II) color-center laser by synchronous pumping is demonstrated. Pulse widths as short as 75 psec were obtained by extending the cavity in a N2-purged atmosphere. The dependences of the pulse phase delay on the cavity length and pump power were evaluated to be 16 psec μm−1 and 0.5 psec mW−1.
