Coordinated Feature Issues of Optics Express and Optical Materials Express
2013 ADVANCED SOLID-STATE LASERS
Submission Opens: 1 December 2013
Submission Deadline: 6 January 2014
OSA's Optics Express and Optical Materials Express are teaming up to publish papers from the 2013 Advanced Solid State-Lasers Congress (ASSL) in coordinated Feature Issues that will appear in April 2014. The journals welcome submissions to these Feature Issues from only the oral and poster papers accepted for the meeting. All papers need to present original, previously unpublished work, and will be subject to the normal standards and peer-review process of the journals. To be eligible for publication, the paper needs to add substantial and/or significant new information to the original conference summary.
This new ASSL Congress combines the significant research from the topical meetings formally known as Advanced Solid-State Photonics (ASSP), Advances in Optical Materials (AIOM), and Fiber Laser Applications (FILAS). This exciting new program covers the latest advances in solid state materials based lasers, to nonlinear optical devices and associate technologies and applications.
Authors may choose to submit to either Optics Express or Optical Materials Express, but generally, we encourage submitting materials-oriented papers to Optical Materials Express, while all other topics from the ASSL Congress would be better suited for Optics Express. The standard publication charges for these journals will apply.
Papers will appear in their respective journals and will be published online upon acceptance. A combined table of contents of papers in Optics Express and Optical Materials Express will also appear in April 2014. Manuscripts must be prepared according to the standard author instructions for submission to Optics Express and Optical Materials Express and submitted online through OSAs online submission system. When submitting, authors must specify that the manuscript is for the ASSL feature issue (choose from the drop-down menu).
