Abstract
Imaging through a circular aperture of two particles illuminated by an incident field is discussed by calculating the field intensity distribution on an observation plane after the incident field is multiply scattered between the particles. In addition to illustrating the properties of the intensity distribution, a method is presented that enables the angular separation between the particles to be determined approximately even when their images are entirely indistinguishable on the observation plane.
